Sweet Potato

The people of Okinawa, Japan have traditionally enjoyed one of the highest life expectancies in the world. One of those secrets is lots and lots of sweet potatoes. The traditional Okinawan diet consists of mostly whole plant foods and in particular, they get about 60% of their calories from sweet potatoes alone. 

Sweet potatoes are loaded with beta carotene - yup, the stuff in carrots.
